The Aftermath

Today is the Day After and John Kerry has just conceded the U.S. Presidency to George W. Bush. American has spoken and apparently a large majority of the voters believe that morality issues were more important than the troubled economy.

For the record, I too had strong feelings about going in to Iraq under false pretenses. I also had strong convictions about the way the Bush Administration has handled the war on terrorism...but as a Progressive my biggest issue has been the economy and the way the Bushies support outsourcing, corporate tax breaks, union-busting and blatant disregard for the welfare of the middle and lower class citizens of this nation.

Apparently more folks were concerned about Tom marrying George than they were their own jobs and children's futures in this country -- not saying I'm for gay marriage, but I believe before we can debate moral issues we need to make sure first we have jobs and are economically strong enough to survive.

Folks you and your families can't eat morals and you children can't either. Remotely associating the Bush Administration with morality and Christian Values is a joke because scriptures teach pride, greed, oppressing the poor/elderly/children and deceit are sinful.

So now its 4 more years of Bush Presidency, House and Senate control which translates to the outsourcing of more jobs, tax cuts for the wealthy and headstrong ideologies that alienate us from the rest of the world.

We may have lost this election, but we still have voices and now we must hold our elected officials accountable for their actions.
